Story Cube Challenge- May 13
Summer is almost upon us and it means that kids will put the
books away for a few months and enjoy some fun time.
Kids like to play pretend. They like to pretend they are
pirates, and wear an eye patch and have a skull
and cross bones flag waving from a stick. Kids also like to pretend they
are scientists who mix concoctions in a beaker.
At times, kids pretend to be a ringmaster in a circus that is held under a big tent.
Kids also like to go to the beach and play in the big waves and try to catch crabs scurrying in the sand. While
traveling from place to place, the parents may give their kids a Where’s Waldo
book to keep them occupied for a few minutes.
Who doesn’t like Waldo with his red and white striped shirt and
signature glasses?
Older kids may continue to read throughout the summer, and
Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven, is a popular book for kids to read. Still, others
may go to a desert and see cactus plants. Whatever kids do for the summer, they
will feel like kings and queens wearing their crowns, until the school year starts again.
